Coach Jimmy’s love for swimming began as a recreational swimmer over 20 years ago in Houston, TX. He continued his competitive swimming career after high school at Henderson State University, where he studied Aviation, history, and physics.
Jimmy began his coaching career in 2010 taking on an assistant coaching role with his old rec. team before moving on the the head coach position in 2012. He continued to spend the next four summers in the same roll while gaining additional knowledge and experience working with his college team during the 2014-2015 school year, were Henderson’s men’s season culminated in a 2nd place finish at their Conference Meet. Following the end of the season, Jimmy briefly took on the Head Age Group Coach position with Alief Aquatic Club before ultimately landing in Missouri City, TX with Sienna Plantation Aquatics. There, he was the lead coach on the Bronze group, and assisted in coaching the team’s first Jr. National qualifiers in over a decade. He is also the current the lead coach for the Tigershark, Senior & High School groups with Fort Collins Area Swim Team. Jimmy moved to Fort Collins in July 2017 so his (now) wife could pursue her masters degree at CSU. Jimmy is a huge Chicago Bears fan and spends his free time reading Star Wars, DC, and the occasional Marvel comic books. |

Coach Shay started swimming club in North Dakota at age 8. After moving to Colorado she swam both with the CARA summer teams and year-round club with the team now known as the current Front Range Cuda.
In high school she was a state competitor in the 50-Free and the 400-Free Relay. Along with life-guarding and teaching swim lessons, she assisted as a technical/skills coach for the Brighton Bullfrogs club team, as well as coached CARA teams every summer. Her specialties are adult learn-to-swim, infants and stroke technique. Shayna graduated Kappa Delta Pi at Metropolitan State University of Denver after having spent time at both the University of Northern Colorado and the University of Hawaii, where surfing became a favorite pastime. She’s spent most of her life working in some form of 911 emergency services. She currently works at Preston Middle School as the Social Media Website Master and a p/t para. Shayna and her son, love to go paddle boarding, camping, sporting events and to the dog park. She also enjoys dancing and jogging -but is still coming off a fibula fracture and a LizFranc reconstruction; the 12-month expected recovery time has been a bit slow, however not down and out. After assistant coaching with the Fossil girls team, she is super excited for the boys season and can’t wait for them to blow the top off of the State Championship! |
Shane Price
My name is Shane Price and I'll be assisting alongside Shayna and Jimmy during the 2022 boys season! I'm a Fort Collins native and swam for FAST for many years, including FAST masters today! I competed in high school and swam for FCHS (2006-2010) and assistant coached for a few years afterwards. I swear there is no conflict of interest. (:
I attended Colorado State University for a degree in Computer Science and currently work at Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a software engineer. Feel free to reach out with questions if any of you boys are interested in a career in tech! Also, I'm not afraid to hop in the water and race if you wanna see how us old guys do it. I'm excited to help the boys have a fun and successful season! Looking forward to meeting you all. |
Joe Zupancic
Coach Zupancic has been swimming his entire life with his competitive career starting at 8 years old and continuing today. At Hope College, he was a team captain and was honored with multiple all-conference awards. His freshman year the team took 2nd place at the DIII nationals. In 2018, he had three 11th place finishes at USMS Spring Nationals. Coach Zupancic loves sharing his experience and enthusiasm with new swimmers. He has coached many age-group teams while training in Michigan. Today, he continues coaching with the Liberty Common High School & Fossil Ridge High School swim teams. He is married to Ellen and has two daughters that attend LCHS and a son at Kinard Middle School
